Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service Managers; Kitchen Department Manager; Floral Department Manager; Pharmacy Department Manager; Online Shopping Department Manager

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
• Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether in the customer’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
• Learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Deliver products to customers, collect payment, and make change when necessary
• Return payments and beginning cash to store
• Maintain food and groceries at proper temperature in accordance with food safety standards to ensure food quality and customer satisfaction
• Maintain dress and personal hygiene in line with department and company guidelines
• Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
• Report to work as scheduled and on time

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in other areas of the store as needed
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required
• Facilitate the maintenance and upkeep of delivery vehicles

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near range with or without correction
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasional lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying objects up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions
• Must be able to enter and exit delivery vehicle many times a day, traverse staircases and other rough terrain to reach delivery destination

Working Conditions

This position is continually exposed to dust, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, and equipment movement hazards. There is a significant work pace and pressure to deliver product in a timely manner.

Special Requirements

Employees must possess a valid driver’s license, with no DOT restrictions, and be 18 years or older to drive a company vehicle

Financial Responsibility

Responsible for payments received for delivery of products when applicable
