Overview

Lifetime Dental Care of Frostburg is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team. Heartland Dental supports this office and its staff by providing non-clinical administrative support and fostering a collaborative culture focused on patient care.

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work in an environment that encourages learning, team cohesion, and puts patients first. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art technology and a supportive team dedicated to providing the best patient care to the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients at the start of their dental journey; sustain patient comfort and provide education throughout treatment.
  • Review the patient’s health history to inform quality care.
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (e.g., iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
  • Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with state dental practice acts.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
  • Prepare treatment rooms adhering to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations.
  • Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by the state dental practice act.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to access minimum PHI required for job duties; HIPAA training and data safeguards are required.

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ year(s) of dental experience.
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience.
  • Dental assisting school certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing; ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Occasional travel to virtual or in-person trainings throughout the year.
  • TB test is required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN).
