This position involves ensuring compliance with internal controls and external legislation while directly impacting reported financial results. The role is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of SOX Control Reports for both regulated and non-regulated entities. Additional responsibilities include data analysis, account maintenance, tax reconciliations, and managing payroll tax return filings and annual assessments as released by the state. The position requires a hybrid working model with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Responsibilities:
Review internal SOX Control Reports related to weekly/biweekly payroll processing. Compile findings for SOX Baseline audits. Collaborate with ADP and/or taxing jurisdictions to ensure timely tax filings (monthly, quarterly, annually). Work with tax agencies to resolve inquiries related to state and local withholding taxes and assessments. Analyze state and local tax data and collaborate across finance functions to resolve tax issues promptly. Support special payroll processing, such as no-split holiday processing. Attend meetings with internal stakeholders to address and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. Three or more years of relevant work experience with multi-state and local taxes. Experience working with state and local jurisdictions. Proficiency in navigating third-party tax applications, such as ADP. Experience with HRMS and payroll processing systems, preferably PeopleSoft and/or Workday. Intermediate proficiency in Excel. Understanding of end-to-end payroll functional processes and their integration with payroll tax processes (preferred). Strong customer service skills, both verbal and written. Good organizational, time management, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously. Willingness for flexible scheduling to meet processing demands. Strong sense of urgency, proactive approach, and focus on results. CPP or FPC certification (preferred). About PTR Global:
