What You’ll Do Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents. Perform material take-offs and estimate labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations teams to develop proposals. Solicit and evaluate vendor/supplier quotes. Maintain cost databases and produce professional bid proposals.
What We’re Looking For 5+ years estimating
structural steel
or
heavy industrial/commercial projects
. Strong ability to read blueprints, specs, and welding symbols. Skilled in
Excel, Word
, and estimating software (FabSuite, Tekla, Bluebeam, etc.). Knowledge of
manufacturing processes, welding, material prep, and labor costing
. Bachelor’s degree in Construction/Engineering preferred (experience may substitute). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
