PPG Industries, Inc is hiring: Truck Driver/Material Handler in Savannah

Overview

Truck Driver/Material Handler – Starting pay $24.43 per hour – 1st Shift, Monday to Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM, OT and weekends as needed.

As a Truck Driver and Material Handler you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people’s lives!

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a box truck and transit van for local deliveries.
• Load and unload product to and from delivery vehicles and designated storage areas.
• Use a forklift and liftgate to load and unload from truck at locations without a loading dock.
• Perform material handler duties including sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence (e.g., size, type, style, color, or product code).
• Operate a Hi-Rise to load items in storage racks or gas or electric powered forklift truck to move, stack, load or unload materials, parts, finished goods, etc.
• Use electronic applications on mobile device and scanner to process orders and prepare inventory for delivery to customer site.
• Apply RFID and barcode labels to incoming inventory, ensuring accuracy of part numbers and lot numbers.
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conduct cycle counts for inventory accuracy and ensure first-in-first-out of shelf-life sensitive chemical products.

Qualifications

• CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Previous driving experience in box trucks or larger vehicles preferred.
• Previous Warehouse experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience/certification preferred.
• Requires lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
