Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Conducts exploratory research to produce new knowledge and potential products; conceives, organizes, promotes, and executes ideas and plans to increase chemistry's role in and contribution to the discovery and chemical approaches to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery. Develops research proposals to provide a technically and economically sound basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, synthetic methods, processes, and analytical and physical testing techniques. Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work or termination of projects. Preferred ***** Advanced degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or related technical field; 5+ years of experience in R&D within medical device or pharmaceutical industries; Experience with new product development and sustaining project support; Expertise in combination device analytical test method development and ***** HPLC, GC, dissolution, bioassay
; Formulation and testing experience with adhesives, cyanoacrylates preferred; Expertise with analytical instrumentation, including ***** dissolution USP
Apparatuses, HPLC-DAD, GPC, GC-FID/MS, Karl Fischer, FT-IR and UV-Vis; Strong problem-solving capabilities; Solid oral and written communication skills; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and lead projects
; Experience in moderate and complex data analyses using statistical techniques; Experience of using chromatography ***** Empower and MassHunter; Experience using common electronic documentation software (e.g. MAP, Agile or equivalent).
