Job Overview
Pickup and delivery of cargo to and from various locations, often within proximity of the consolidation/distribution center. Duties and Responsibilities
Exercising independent judgment in building and tearing down trailers for efficient time management, resource allocation, and physical demands, all while complying with weight distribution regulations. Loading and unloading cargo as assigned. Operating a forklift when necessary. Performing tasks such as check-in, tractor/trailer inspection, tractor setup, and pickup/delivery of cargo. Completing routine paperwork effectively and logging loading sheets properly. Qualifications and Skills
A minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience (candidates with less than 1 year may be eligible for training). Holding a Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements, with no automatic restriction. Age requirement: at least 21 years old. A stable work record. A safe driving record based on MVR and previous employment history. The ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements. Benefits Package
Candidates are paid hourly according to Teamster Union Scale, which is higher than most other carriers. Overtime pay is provided after 8 hours/day for hourly employees. All union members receive comprehensive health and welfare benefits with no employee-paid premiums. Seven days of sick leave are granted annually, along with personal days, paid holidays, allowing up to three weeks of paid time off without using vacation days. Life insurance coverage is offered through the multi-employer sponsored health and welfare fund. Employees have the opportunity to contribute to the Teamsters National 401(k) plan.
