General objective of the role This position plays a key role in all aspects of purchasing and procurement. This includes managing the daily processes of ordering materials and products, as well as ensuring the accuracy and availability of inventory. The role also involves monitoring and evaluating the performance and quality of external suppliers to help maintain strong and reliable supply chain operations.
Reporting lines and interactions This position reports directly to the Operations Manager of North America. Internally, you will coordinate the Warehouse, Engineering, Marketing and Finance Managers. Additionally, this role includes coordinating with our European teams as needed. Externally, you will liaise with suppliers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities Coordinate with operations, warehouse and engineering managers to assess and review current inventory status to ensure optimal stock levels and availability. Oversee purchasing activities for all US operations facilities, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement. Collaborate with dealerships and marketing teams on usage of parts and forecasting future quantities. Ensure best total value for purchased items: evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, assess payment methods, determine optimal order frequency, and prepare recommendations for management. Coordinate with operations, warehouse and engineering teams to monitor and follow up on all Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Design Changes. Transfer quality control issues and complaints to suppliers when relevant, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Utilize and improve the ERP-based supply and stock management system by managing order receipts, creating purchase orders, and entering new vendors. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote excess or slow-moving inventory by identifying parts for promotional campaigns to enable them in the creation of sales materials (e.g., dealer flyers, promotional offers) to increase product turnover. Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, pricing, and delivery times to support data-driven decision-making. Support logistics coordination, including shipment tracking, customs documentation, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Work closely with the finance team to reconcile invoices, track spending, and support budget adherence. Contribute to process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the supply chain and procurement functions. Stay informed of industry trends, pricing changes, and market availability to anticipate potential supply chain risks.
Qualifications High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Three or more years of proven experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain operations. Proficiency with ERP systems or inventory management systems. Training on in-house ERP system will be provided. Available to travel domestically and internationally. Passport required.
Experience / Skills Proven track record of developing and executing purchasing strategies that improve cost efficiency, supplier quality, and delivery performance. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities, with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to last-minute changes. Problem-solving mindset: pragmatic, able to distinguish between “good enough” and “nice to have.” Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear and consistent presentation abilities. Collaborative team leader with drive, autonomy, curiosity, and empathy. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a continuous improvement mindset.
