Actively producing hardware products in Monroe, North Carolina since 1957, ASSA ABLOY Door Controls products offer traditional surface, industrial, economy, overhead and floor concealed, security, commercial, architectural, electromechanical and electrified door closers and controls. In this role, you will be working inside a thriving and growing manufacturing facility that designs, tests, produces, and ships Door Closers, Door Controls, and Electromechanical Door Controls and Door Operators used in Hospitals, Schools, Churches, Sports Arenas, Hotels, and large Institutional buildings.Our facility is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with many possibilities to make a difference and add value to the business. What will you be doing? The Maintenance Electrician will: Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs and adjustments using the necessary test equipment, instructions and tools of the trade. Troubleshoot and repair of CNC equipment. Demonstrate the motivation to improve personal job skills and work methods, as well as support company improvement initiatives and processes. Perform work in accordance with current electrical codes and specifications. Comply with all plant safety regulations and company policies. Maintain 5-S housekeeping practices. Follow all ISO procedures. Perform other duties as assigned and required by the supervisor. What are we looking for? The ideal candidate has 10 years of previous experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing environment and possesses these qualifications, skills, and abilities: Strong Understanding of AC & DC drives, VFD's, circuits, electrical power theory, PLC troubleshooting of CNC equipment and automation. Requires experience in interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting power, relay logic, PLC circuits and electrical/electronic devices using instruments such as volt-ohmmeter and programmable logic controller. Knows the various sizes and uses of different kinds of conduit, fittings, joints, and equipment for channeling services throughout the plant. Requires very good mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities including, but not limited to, minor welding, brazing, cutting, metal fabricating, piping and carpentry. Requires ability to read machine prints, use micrometers, calipers and operate basic machine shop manual power tools. Requires the ability to work with minimal supervision; the willingness to work with others in a team environment and efficient use of time and materials. Requires overtime as required or necessary to keep the factory operating at an acceptable performance level to meet customer demands. Preference is given to those with an electrical license. Willing/Able to work weekends as required. Exceptional communication skills to work well with peers and associates Must be willing to get engaged in Continuing Education to improve skill set Must have a strong commitment to details Maintain good housekeeping practices.
