Project Manager/Construction Manager (Pharmaceutical Capital Projects)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Construction Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex capital projects within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Kenosha, WI. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of hands-on experience managing multi-disciplinary capital projects. This role is responsible for ensuring all phases of construction and project delivery align with compliance standards, budget, schedule, and safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of pharmaceutical facility construction and capital improvement projects, including facilities, process equipment installations, utilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, and packaging areas.
  • Oversee engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation phases.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, EMA, cGMP, and other relevant regulatory guidelines throughout all project stages.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, risk mitigation plans, and change control processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including QA, validation, engineering, production, EHS, and maintenance.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting on project progress, financials, and performance metrics.
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) planning in collaboration with quality and validation teams.
  • Maintain construction safety compliance and promote site safety culture.
  • Evaluate and select contractors and suppliers; manage contracts, purchase orders, and construction documentation.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate capital project governance, quality systems, and design standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field); advanced degree or PMP preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in capital project and construction management.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale CAPEX projects ($200M+) on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with construction safety, permitting, and code compliance in the U.S.
  • Proficient with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar), AutoCAD, and construction management platforms.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or CM-Lean.
  • Familiarity with CQV processes and documentation.
  • Experience working with high-containment (potent compound) facilities or aseptic manufacturing environments.
