Overview Director of Budget and Award Management, Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) at Georgetown University Medical Center. The Center serves countries to improve population health and well-being, advance equity and social justice, and catalyze uptake of innovations and data-driven practices through global collaboration and open learning networks. The Director will lead the Budget and Award Management portfolio, overseeing pre-award, post-award, and ongoing budget monitoring for funded awards.

Responsibilities The Director will report to the CGHPI Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Director, and work with the Center Director, Principal Investigators, HQ and Field Program Staff, Central University Operations Team, other Georgetown University departments and Sponsor Institutions. Responsibilities include: Pre-Award Disseminates funding opportunity information and application compliance requirements Collaborates with faculty and staff to develop and transform ideas into grant proposals Provides policy guidance and assistance with all aspects of proposal development, administrative forms, sponsor-required certifications and representations, and compliance requirements Advises and assists faculty and staff in assembling grant proposals from proposal state to award Prepares cost component of proposals and grant applications, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders Develops tools and templates for cost proposals Packages final proposal package for submission to the sponsor through Office of Research Development Services Quality assures the proposal development process Maintains funding opportunity databases and tracks pending awards; tracks deadlines for timely submissions and renewals; supports preparation of grant reports Partners with Finance and Program Management Teams to transition from pre-award to grant administration upon award Post-Award Participates in award set-up meetings to understand award criteria and requirements Monitors ongoing award financial activity to ensure reporting requirements and deliverables are met Ensures direct costs charged to grants and contracts are allowable under sponsor guidelines and applicable regulations Interprets reports to internal departments and prepares queries or special reports Prepares and facilitates orientation workshops on sponsor policies and procedures Investigates and resolves budgetary discrepancies with program and finance teams Collaborates with University Audit and Compliance Offices on sub-recipient readiness and sub-award scopes Monitors end dates and provides status feedback to stakeholders Costing and Budget Management Prepares budgets for new proposals and grant applications, including budgets narratives Collaborates with program teams to revise and modify budgets as required Develops budget development templates and training materials Trains field and HQ program teams on key templates Collaborates with Finance to prepare regular budget-to-actual and other sponsor expenditure monitoring reports Qualifications

Master's degree in Public Administration or Business Administration At least 5 years of experience in costing and award management At least 5 years of supervisory experience Experience managing U.S. Government Federal awards Experience working with public health and research teams Good communication skills Strong leadership qualities Excellent interpersonal skills Compliance oriented Analytical skills Willingness and availability to travel internationally and domestically Application Information Submission Guidelines: To be considered for any Georgetown University position, please submit a cover letter and resume for each position of interest.
