Our team values collaboration, accuracy, and efficiency in data management and analysis. We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting operations with a primary focus on accounts payable, financial audit preparation, and maintaining strong relationships with external auditors. This role will lead a small team of two, balancing leadership with significant day-to-day involvement in accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about both operational excellence and developing team members. On-site position that requires 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday) in our San Francisco HQ. Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensure compliance with ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 340-40 (Contract Costs), and other relevant standards; lead the implementation of new accounting standards and assess the impact on financial reporting; coordinate with tax team on several tax-related matters, including sales tax; assist in complex revenue recognition under ASC 606 for multi-element SaaS arrangements. Audit & External Reporting Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits; prepare comprehensive audit support documentation and respond to auditor requests; lead audit preparation activities with flux analysis and supporting documentation; collaborate with auditors on technical accounting positions and documentation requirements. Operational Oversight: Supervise accounts payable processes for accurate and timely vendor payments and reconciliations; oversee commissions calculations and sales compensation accounting; review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and support a team of senior accounting professionals; provide training and guidance for career progression; balance hands-on work with strategic leadership to ensure operational execution and growth. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Expert-level knowledge of ASC 606, ASC 340-40, ASC 842, and ASC 718 (stock compensation). Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and audit preparation. Hands-on, detail-driven approach with ability to manage both individual responsibilities and team leadership. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Airbase, and Avalara preferred. High energy, leadership capability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Location & schedule On-site in San Francisco, CA, four days per week (Mon-Thu).
