Position Summary Designs instructional content for self-paced online courses, creates interactive media content, and builds content modules across learning systems using various software to support academic and professional programs. Apply advanced instructional design to articulate course design for diverse graduate and postgraduate public health courses, including specialized quantitative subjects. Craft learning objectives and outcomes; integrate learning activities and assessments tailored to course demands. Recommend technologies and pedagogical strategies grounded in data analysis to enhance engagement and knowledge acquisition in large online self-paced courses. Support faculty and staff in multimedia content creation (interactive activities, video, audio) and oversee content production on schedule. Contribute to analytical testing of content and tools to meet ADA requirements; research and document copyright for embedded content. Collaborate with instructional designers, technology staff, faculty, and teaching assistants with diplomacy and tact. Work with others to design specialized training that supports students in quantitative courses. Engage in professional development to stay current with instructional design and online education trends. Participate in workshops, trainings, and other development activities. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of the functional area and awareness of how one course impacts others. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written); ability to collaborate and negotiate. Ability to learn organization policies and procedures relevant to online course development. Knowledge of instructional design principles, learning strategies, needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes, and assessment design. Knowledge of tools and platforms for delivering engaging, media-rich online learning and current trends in educational technology. Experience with relevant business software systems and adult learning theories. Knowledge of e-learning strategies for courses and related processes and technologies. Experience planning and monitoring design lifecycles for training and learning solutions. Ability to conduct job and task analyses in instructional design contexts. Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health, educational technology, instructional design, or equivalent experience. The salary offers depend on qualifications and experience. This is a 1-year, full-time (40 hours/week) contract appointment eligible for UC benefits with potential extension.
