RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive improvements in plant operations by analyzing reliability, productivity, and downtime data to identify recurring issues and implement lasting solutions. • Lead the development and execution of a predictive maintenance program with a strong focus on vibration analysis, equipment alignment, and balancing to proactively prevent failures. • Partner with cross-functional teams to engineer out equipment deficiencies, propose system upgrades, and support operational efficiency. • Provide technical input for the plant capital budget, including data analysis and recommendations that ensure successful project completion. • Manage projects from concept to completion, including cost estimating, budgeting, vendor/contractor coordination, and ensuring delivery within scope and budget. • Support both Operations and Maintenance teams by delivering corrective actions for repetitive issues, addressing areas of high cost, and leveraging cross-functional expertise to resolve complex problems. • Identify and prioritize improvement projects using reliability metrics, equipment performance data, and long-term maintenance costs, secure funding through maintenance or capital budgets. • Contribute to the annual maintenance budget in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager. • Step into supervisory responsibilities as needed and participate in the plant’s rotating on-call schedule for mechanical problem resolution. • Serve as a role model in leadership, teamwork, safety, environmental stewardship, customer focus, and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and values.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required. • Minimum of 3+ years of industrial experience; prior knowledge of cement processes preferred. • Strong foundation in predictive and preventive maintenance practices with proven success improving equipment reliability. • Hands-on maintenance background with solid problem-solving and project management skills. • Proficient in computer applications; CAD experience preferred. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels. • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to drive results through internal staff and external partners. • Physically capable of working in demanding environments (dusty, noisy, and potentially hazardous conditions) and performing tasks requiring dexterity and strength. • Willingness to travel and spend extended time at other company facilities as needed
