Our client, a successful private label apparel company, is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Assistant Sweater Designer to join their dynamic design team. This role is perfect for someone who is trend-savvy, organized, and eager to grow their expertise in knitwear design. The ideal candidate brings strong sketching abilities, proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and either existing sweater knowledge or a keen interest in learning the category.

Key Responsibilities Support the design and development of sweaters across multiple categories, including girls, tween, juniors, and missy. Create detailed sketches with stitch and artwork modifications using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Research seasonal trends, stitches, colors, and yarns to inspire designs. Maintain seasonal design files, track samples, and manage internal documentation. Collaborate closely with technical design, production, and sales teams throughout the development cycle. Participate in fittings and design meetings to support product execution. Conduct trend research through shopping the market, online channels, and social media. Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding yarn sourcing and sample development. Assist with tech pack creation for proto sample development. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Elevated trend awareness and strong aesthetic point of view. Passion for retail, social media, and influencer-driven trend discovery. Foundational knowledge of sweater construction (gauges, stitches, yarns) or strong motivation to learn knitwear.
