Senior P&ID Designer

to join our growing team in

Phoenix, AZ

. This position plays a critical role in supervising, coordinating, and driving the successful execution of PFDs and P&IDs on major mining and industrial projects.

Responsibilities Administer all tasks relating to the

AutoCAD P&ID

application, including project setup and database management. Develop and customize symbols and project databases to meet client/project specifications. Export and import data per client or company requirements (e.g., valves, instrumentation, and pipeline lists). Develop and modify

Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

and

Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

from designs provided by the Process Engineer. Add intelligence to P&ID drawings, including line numbers, piping components, equipment, and instrumentation configurations. Check specifications on PFDs and P&IDs to ensure quality and maintain a very high standard. Redline P&IDs for back-drafting and assist process engineers with design clarification. Support workload management of the P&ID team and assist in mentoring junior designers as required. Prepare manhour estimates for PFDs and P&IDs during studies and projects. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure accuracy and adherence to project scope and schedule. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on progress, issues, and deliverables.

Qualifications & Requirements Minimum

5+ years of experience

in P&ID/PFD design using

AutoCAD P&ID

(current expertise required). Strong experience in

project setup, database management, and customization

of AutoCAD P&ID environments. Skilled in

developing, modifying, and quality-checking

PFDs and P&IDs. Experience adding intelligence to P&ID drawings (line numbers, piping components, equipment, instrumentation). EPCM and/or mining project experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to deliver within budget and schedule. Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements May be required to stand, sit in a stationary position ~50% of the time, alternate between sitting and standing, push/pull, reach overhead or below shoulder level, kneel, squat, or stoop. Occasionally lift and carry items such as files, documents, or small packages (10–20 pounds). Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and office equipment. Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, analyzing data, and working on a computer.
