We operate a range of programs including: A network of Greenmarkets, Farmstands, and GrowNYC Wholesale to ensure access to fresh, local food Community and school garden support through volunteer days, technical assistance, training, and grants Environmental education programs reaching over 70,000 children annually Position Summary GrowNYC is seeking a Labor and Employee Relations Coordinator (LERC) to support interactions and negotiations between management and employee representatives, specifically for labor unions. This role ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), supports issue resolution across departments, and maintains documentation related to labor relations. The LERC also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational policies, handbooks, and codes of conduct. Key Responsibilities Union and Employee Relations Serve as liaison between HR and union representatives Facilitate communication regarding employee concerns, policy changes, and contract negotiations Interpret and ensure compliance with union agreements Train leaders on grievance procedures; prepare leaders for hearings and assist with grievance responses Coordinate and participate in labor management meetings and grievance hearings Investigate grievances and complaints; maintain grievance data and monitor trends Meet with employees and leaders on performance concerns Stay current on labor laws and ensure organizational compliance Conduct SOP training and respond to union-related inquiries Ensure adherence to CBAs and internal policies Reporting and Data Management Draft disciplinary and adverse action documentation Prepare and distribute remittance reports and worker eligibility rosters Organize and maintain employee relations case files Prepare reasonable accommodation documentation Record grievance decisions and adjudications Support HR team with various projects as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of experience in employee relations or interviewing/investigations within a unionized workforce Demonstrated ability to build relationships and negotiate with union representatives At least 2 years of relevant HR experience Strong conflict resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of employment laws and standards Proficiency in HRIS systems, Google Suite, Excel, and other applications Ability to remain composed in sensitive situations Ability to be seated for extended periods Preferred Qualifications PHR or SPHR certification Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Experience with grievance procedures and collective bargaining Benefits & Pay: Salary:
