This position is at our Magnus Inc location where we have been the leading manufacturer of traction motor support bearings for the railroad industry. Since 1885, we have served locomotive manufacturers and repair shops with axle thrust bearings, locomotive journal bearings, thrust washers, other special bearings in high-leaded bronze, and remanufacturing of locomotive turbochargers.
We are looking for a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Tech who can become our lead when our current lead retires. Looking to pay in the $34 - $36 per hour range for the right person.
Duties/Responsibilities: Performing routine preventative maintenance on production equipment and accurately completing required documentation. Applying your skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to install, repair, or replace faulty equipment and components. Supporting the development and revision of standard maintenance procedures and work instructions, while verifying their accuracy and suggesting improvements. Preparing work areas by ensuring tools and equipment are readily available and in proper working condition. Diagnosing and resolving equipment issues using proactive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime. Troubleshooting PLC hardware and software to ensure efficient system performance. Collaborating with Team Leaders and Supervisors to communicate any safety, quality, or production-related concerns. Identifying when equipment needs to be repaired or replaced and notifying the appropriate personnel. Assist and mentor maintenance team members to support skill development and ensure consistent maintenance performance across the team.
Skills/Experience Requirements: 8+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience is required. Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices and principles. PLC electrical troubleshooting experience is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical/mechanical schematics. Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Open Schedule: Monday – Friday, dayshift hours.
