Job Description:
The Superintendent is responsible for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating subcontractors, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are strictly followed and work proceeds on schedule and within budget. This role oversees scheduling, inspections, quality control, job site safety, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact and communication with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors for day-to-day construction activities.
Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain critical records, daily reports, project schedules, submittals, RFIs, subcontracts, and budget reporting.
Develop and implement overall project work schedules, including identifying the critical path and expediting delivery of critical materials and equipment.
Develop and manage the site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
Make decisions related to work performance, scheduling, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing.
Oversee work among trades to ensure coordinated project operations.
Act as liaison with inspection agencies.
Manage General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget.
Oversee billing processes, including monthly work-in-place estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
Ensure all work complies with approved contract documents.
Apply knowledge of construction methods, safety, scheduling, quality assurance, plans, specifications, estimating, bidding, and project documentation.
Collaborate with the Estimating/Preconstruction Team on schedule, logistics, safety, constructability reviews, and project requirements.
Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial construction experience.
Proven experience in scheduling and jobsite management.
OSHA 10/30-hour training certifications.
Safety and First Aid certifications.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficiency in quality control and construction safety practices.
Knowledge and experience in budgeting and cost control.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
Relevant construction and safety certifications are advantageous.
