Position Summary
The System Administrator I is the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. This role provides prompt, courteous, and effective support to resolve basic hardware, software, and network-related problems. The System Administrator I is responsible for logging, tracking, and escalating tickets as needed to ensure timely resolution and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, or in-person.
Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for:
Workstations, laptops, and mobile devices
Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.)
Network connectivity (Wi-Fi, VPN, printers)
Standard business applications and software
Peripheral devices (printers, scanners, phones, etc.)
Accurately log all requests and resolutions into the IT ticketing system.
Escalate more complex issues to Tier 2 or Tier 3 support when necessary.
Follow documented procedures for account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
Assist with new hire setups, including provisioning accounts, devices, and software.
Maintain and update IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with end-users.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in IT-related field preferred.
1+ year of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or related technical role.
Industry certifications a plus (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, ITIL Foundation).
Skills & Abilities
Basic understanding of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer service orientation and ability to remain patient under pressure.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
