Position Overview We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to join our dynamic Operations team. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role is pivotal in managing the end-to-end supply chain—from production through customer service. You’ll serve as a key liaison between FoodStory Brands and our customers, ensuring exceptional service through seamless coordination with production and logistics partners.

Essential Job Functions

Logistics & Freight Management Serve as the subject matter expert for logistics, including warehousing, transportation, and order management Analyze freight costs and identify the most cost-effective shipping options by sourcing and comparing rate quotes from qualified 3PLs Confirm item dimensions and case cube to determine optimal shipping specifications Evaluate national freight averages and collaborate with leadership to negotiate rates Calculate freight and storage costs per unit for prepaid shipping options Build and manage shipping schedules based on incoming POs and customer delivery requirements Coordinate with co-packers and 3PLs to schedule and book outbound shipments Review BOLs and PODs to confirm OTIF delivery and update internal systems accordingly Dispute inaccurate freight charges with carriers or customers when necessary Continuously seek new 3PL partners to support business growth

Forecasting & Sales Analysis Collaborate with Sales to estimate weekly and annual volume needs Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and promotional activity to inform production forecasts Communicate forecast changes with production facilities and sales teams Ensure inventory levels support healthy turns while avoiding MUMD and stockouts

Production Scheduling & Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels at production facilities and external warehouses Coordinate transportation to replenish off-site warehouses as needed Track product shelf life and proactively manage potential overproduction risks Partner with Sales to offload excess inventory through promotions, outlet channels, or donations Ensure all outbound product meets shelf-life and quality standards

Purchase Order Management Review customer POs for compliance with MOQs and delivery timelines Validate costing and promotional discounts with PMs and Sales Ensure POs are accurately entered into internal systems via EDI or manual entry

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support Partner with PMs and Marketing to support basic logistical needs Assist with special projects and process improvements as assigned Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment and execution

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field 3–5 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably within the CPG industry Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on, 'no task is too small' attitude Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus Analytical thinker with a knack for solving problems and improving processes
