Full-time Manufacturing Supervisor needed in Plainview, TX. This person is responsible for supporting and maintaining all levels of supervision and scheduling required to ensure our projects are produced on schedule and within budget, while meeting the highest levels of quality and safety. The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling/planning oversite on all projects, both normal production and product development and enhancement. This individual will have an intimate level of supervision and schedule control on all activities throughout our manufacturing process.
Our departments include fabrication, weld, paint, and assembly. We also have a robust refurbishment business that utilizes all of our departments to support its activities. These too will need to be supervised and scheduled.
This Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring and scheduling the priority of all production across multiple departments. This will be done by understanding all customer due date requirements and consistently scheduling production in our shops to support.
Work as a liaison between Engineering and the Shop to provide all measure of drawing support. Answering questions, seeking clarification, providing shop input for drawing updates or clarification, and producing drawings for production. Our Production Engineer will be the keeper of all accurate drawings; this person will be responsible for facilitating all appropriate drawings for production. Working hand in hand with Operations and schedule to ensure cut sheets and nests are provided to the shop floor to enable planned production. Again, the Production Engineer will be responsible for producing this work, this position will be responsible for prioritizing schedules and making it available to the shop floor when needed. Assists Team Leads and Operations Manager with prioritization of production to meet shipping/customer due dates. Works with Purchasing to determine material needs based on releases for production, sales parts, and repair rides. Works with Purchasing to expedite material when needed to support production. When material is not available, collaborates with Engineering for a request for substitution in material to meet schedules.
Assists Operations with information. Examples: weight of planned shipment, assignment of priority for material needed on next shipment to meet installation schedule, working with Engineering to add values to Monday that are not accurate or missing. Assists Operations when special tooling, new manufacturing techniques, or new assembly processes are needed to produce end product. This might include working with in-house Engineering, vendor support, third party contractors, or specialty manufacturers to solve challenges. Works with Engineering to facilitate prototyping of new parts. This includes helping Engineering to understand our capabilities in production during the design process, and also working with production personnel to execute the first articles upon release to our production teams. Works with Operations team to develop and maintain schedules on Monday.com (Our company scheduling software platform). This includes providing appropriate level of detail in production schedules to track and manage progress and due dates and update Monday.com accordingly. Works with all department managers to ensure we are appropriately tracking and checking off progress in Monday.com. Provides constant feedback to Monday Administrator on how we can continue to improve Monday. Ensure proper procedures are followed daily in all departments for project success. Continuous quest for improvement of processes and procedures. Research of archived material to support Ride Support, Ride Repair, and Production of rides.
Qualifications Needed: Computer skills. Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Use of other software programs like Solidworks would be a bonus. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in a team atmosphere. This person will be at the intersection of multiple work groups and will need to be a key part of all of them. Previous experience in a production facility building varied parts (1-3 years of experience would be preferred). Previous weld or fabrication shop experience would be preferred. Strong organizational skills and good record keeping capabilities.
Desired Skills: Training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and processes. Strong organization Safety background and understanding of all OSHA requirements for safe work.
