Company Overview Our client operates one of the world’s largest solar thermal plants, focused on sustainable energy generation through advanced technology and precision operations. As part of a dynamic maintenance team, this role supports high-impact, real-time troubleshooting to ensure plant reliability and performance.
Primary Function We’re seeking a hands-on I&C Technician to support day-to-day instrumentation and control maintenance at the Ivanpah Solar Thermal Facility. You’ll be embedded directly within the plant’s maintenance department, supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and maintain transmitters, switches, control valves, and low-voltage instrumentation Diagnose and repair Rotork electric actuators (strongly preferred) Assist with electrical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance Collaborate with I&C Supervisor and wider maintenance team on plant operations Follow established LOTO procedures and plant safety protocols Document repairs, calibrations, and equipment condition reports Participate in plant-specific training and orientation Qualifications Strong hands-on experience in instrumentation and control systems Proficiency with transmitters, control valves, low-voltage systems, and sensors Familiarity with Rotork actuators is a major plus Electrical skills are helpful but not required Proven field experience in industrial or utility-scale environments Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team Willingness to comply with plant safety procedures and PPE standards Other Information Schedule: Monday–Thursday (4x10s); Friday–Sunday off Estimated Contract Length: 3 to 6 months Overtime: Available and encouraged when needed PPE & tools: Provided on-site Training: Provided on company-specific procedures and policies Pay Rate to Candidate: $56.08–$60.81/hr
