Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Estimator
to join our team in Lakewood, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, on-screen takeoff, and plan & spec breakdown. This role plays a key part in supporting our project bids, helping ensure timely and competitive proposals that align with company goals.
Key Responsibilities: Review and interpret project scope, blueprints, and specifications Utilize on-screen estimating software for project takeoffs Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment Analyze project schedule & requirements to identify cost-saving opportunities Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors for pricing and scope clarification Maintain and update a database of unit costs and vendor pricing Assist in developing bid packages for prospective clients
Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in estimating within a similar industry Knowledge of plumbing equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications Ability to write RFI’s, RFQ’s & Submittals Proficiency in Quotesoft preferred Proficiency PDF-Xchange Editor, Microsoft Suite Programs and Planswift Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related programs Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines High school diploma or GED required; trade school or college education in mechanical or construction-related field a plus
