Professional Land Surveyor

in our Minneapolis office. The successful candidate will possess the ability to analyze and interpret survey records and documents, identify problems and envision solutions, and develop deliverables using state of the art technology in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. The Professional Land Surveyor will apply land surveying principles in the preparation of varied surveying maps and documents, working in cooperation with field and office technicians, and other credentialed professional staff and managers. This position will support our survey department by processing and drafting surveying projects including boundary surveys, ALTA Land Title Surveys, existing conditions surveys, subdivision plats, common interest community plats, registered land surveys, survey exhibits and will provide support to the home building services team in the review of Lot Certificates, Grading As-builts and Foundation As-builts.

Conduct research and compile existing data as needed to direct field and office technicians to efficiently meet surveying requirements for assigned projects. Perform complex surveying and geomatic calculations and analysis of survey data in support of the preparation of survey maps, plats, site plans, and right-of-way mapping. Analyze deeds, title reports, and other supporting materials for the production of survey maps, reports, and legal descriptions. Oversee surveying projects to establish and map boundaries for properties, topographical surveys, utility surveys, and construction projects. Conduct QA/QC review on projects to ensure compliance with project requirements, and applicable federal, state, and/or local regulations. Guide, mentor, and direct survey field and office technicians in the completion of their assigned project tasks. Coordinate and assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and scheduling. Maintain relationships with internal and external clients and provide timely communication on projects and in seeking guidance to ensure project tasks stay on track. May be asked to participate in travel and overnight stays, on a limited basis for projects.

Licensed Land Surveyor (LS) in the state of Minnesota, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire (LSIT certification required). Bachelors or Associates Degree in Land Surveying, GIS, or related field. Thorough knowledge of land surveying principles and practices. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam. Experience with Trimble Business Center and data management and processing. Record of providing excellent customer service and managing project objectives, schedules, and budgets. Proficient with field equipment and knowledge of field data collection procedures. Capacity to multi-task and respond to rapidly changing project priorities. Perform research, design and calculations for surveying and mapping projects using Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center. Familiarity with reading surveying maps and descriptions, engineering plans, and conducting relevant computations Experience with Trimble GPS, Robotic Total Stations and Data Collectors.

Interest in or experience with HD Scanning, registering data, and extraction procedures to produce associated deliverables.

The base salary for this position is expected to be in the range of $90,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
