Financial Loan Officer
to support our financing strategies, manage lending relationships, and ensure the financial health of our portfolio. Position Overview The
Financial Loan Officer
will play a key role in structuring, analyzing, and managing commercial real estate loans. This role is well-suited for candidates with prior banking, lending, or credit analysis experience who are eager to leverage their financial and credit expertise in a fast-paced real estate environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of credit and underwriting, and the ability to build and maintain institutional relationships. Key Responsibilities Loan Origination & Structuring: Source, structure, and process commercial real estate loans, including acquisitions, refinancing, and recapitalizations. Collaborate with lenders to negotiate favorable loan terms and ensure compliance with lending policies. Prepare financing packages and supporting documentation for loan submissions. Credit & Risk Analysis: Evaluate borrower creditworthiness by analyzing financial statements, rent rolls, DSCR, LTV, and other key indicators. Conduct underwriting, risk assessments, and due diligence to support loan approvals. Monitor ongoing loan performance and identify potential risks or covenant breaches. Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional lending requirements. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support loan underwriting and investment decisions. Prepare credit memos, loan summaries, and periodic performance reports. Track and analyze portfolio metrics such as DSCR, NOI, LTV, IRR, and cash flow. Work closely with property management and accounting teams to validate financial data. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, insurance lenders, and financial institutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for lenders during underwriting, closings, and ongoing reporting. Represent the company in lender meetings, investor presentations, and industry conferences. Process & Compliance Oversight: Utilize
Yardi
and other financial systems to manage loan data, payments, and compliance tracking. Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial documentation. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in loan administration and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (
MBA or certifications a plus
). Minimum
5 years’ experience
in commercial lending, loan origination, or real estate credit analysis. Strong knowledge of commercial real estate lending practices, underwriting standards, and credit policy. Advanced
Excel skills
required; experience with
Yardi
and/or
Argus
strongly preferred. Proven ability to structure and close financing transactions. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
