Position Summary
The UB Card Customer Service Representative will work at the University at Buffalo central processing office for faculty, staff and students of the university. This position will process transactions related to the meal plan offerings for students, handle guest relations as related to the dining operations on campus, processing of meal plans for students and provide administrative support to the dining service division. There will be data entry and processing it into various software platforms as related to students and meal plans.
Expected Hours of Work
Typical schedule is part time Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm with the occasional need for overtime as needed during peak periods. This is a year round position with unpaid time off between Christmas and New Years.
Essential Functions
Front Counter Operations
· Processes online requests daily, handles as instructed.
· Sells all plans and accounts associated with the UB Card.
· Provides superior customer service at all times.
· Assists with marketing efforts to develop and sell new and established products.
· Monitors telephone communication with customers, returns voicemail calls.
· Processes meal plan purchases and changes to insure proper recording and billing.
· Scans daily paperwork.
· Any other duties as requested by Management.
Coordination with other departments
· Processes requests from other departments as appropriate.
· Serves as a liaison with the Students Accounts office for purposes of insuring correct billing of student account charges.
Education and Training
· High School Diploma or higher.
Desired Qualifications
· Working knowledge of corporate email system, MS Office, Internet Applications and bowsers required.
· Knowledgeable in cash handling procedures including setting up banks for cashiers.
· Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
· Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of University HUB system for billing and inquiry preferred.
· Knowledge of ID card systems preferred.
· Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Work Environment
· This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopies, phones, filing cabinets, fax machines etc.
Physical and Mental Demands
· While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
· Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
· The employee must have the ability to use hands and fingers, manipulate fingers; and reach with hands and arms.
· The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
· The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 lbs
Licensure/Certification
· Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record required.

· May require traveling across UB campuses (mileage reimbursement included)
