What You’ll Do

• Safely transports materials via transfer truck from plant to job sites. Drives truck both on and off the public highway.
• Performs thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, documents results.
• Travel to other facilities may be required.

Skills You’ll Need

• Experience. Related CDL experience and/or training is preferred.
• Ready to Drive. Must be 21 years or older and possess a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must have current long form physical and medical card.
• Interpersonal Skills. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Vulcan employees. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times. Willing to work in a team environment and assist with other duties as required.
• Basic Math Skills. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Flexibility. Willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
