The Construction Manager in Sun Valley will oversee 3–4 construction projects and play a pivotal role in all phases of the construction process—ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, and to the high-quality standards PVP is known for. The Construction Manager will collaborate closely with Development Managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to manage preconstruction planning, execute construction plans, and achieve project objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of construction activities for residential and commercial projects from inception to completion.
  • Participate in preconstruction and review of upcoming projects.
  • Manage cost-control measures to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project plans and specifications are followed accurately.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services, negotiating contracts and agreements as necessary.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to onsite construction teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Review and process payment applications (“pay apps”) promptly for approval.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including development managers, Executive project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities, providing updates and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, financial updates, and other relevant documentation to management and stakeholders.
  • Supervise project closeout and turnover to owners.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and sustainability in construction practices and methodologies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction management, with a proven track record of delivering residential and commercial projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices, with expertise in project planning, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards related to construction.
