The Designer will play a pivotal role in creating our suiting, bottoms, and outerwear lines for Perry Ellis. We're looking for a proactive, hard-working individual who is ready to take ownership of the entire design process, from initial concept to final production.
Own the creative vision. Drive the design process. Manage the full design lifecycle, including market research, creating inspiration boards, sketching, and developing CADs. Continuously research market trends, study our competitors, and walk the floor to anticipate what's next in design.
Update our best-selling products and use your creativity to design the next big thing.
Work closely with the merchandising team to create a strong seasonal story that meets creative and business goals, including price points and SKU requirements.
Ensure quality and value. Focus on the details to ensure every product has a high-perceived value and meets our standards for quality and fit.
Participate in design meetings, present your ideas, and create presentation boards and other tools to sell your designs.
Create detailed flat sketches, fabric and body CADs, and manage updates throughout the season. Maintain a clear pipeline. Partner with Technical Designers, Product Developers, and Fabric Teams to ensure PLM packages are accurate, updated, and submitted on time. This includes trim sheets, bill of materials, and summary sketches.
Individual will be working closely with the Senior Designer, Technical Design Team, Merchandising Team, Product Development Team, and Sourcing Team on a daily basis. Designer will be mentoring and managing an assistant designer.
Travel as needed. Some travel may be required to support design initiatives.
A high level of creativity and a true passion for design.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop .
The ability to quickly learn new technology, including 3D design and Nedgraphics.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Design from an accredited college or university.
~5+ years of design experience in men's suiting and/or outerwear.
