Desert Regional Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center with 365 beds, is seeking a Board-Certified Urologist for locum tenens call-only coverage . This role arises due to departmental restructuring and offers the chance to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

Phone Consults: 4 per day
Admissions: 2 per day
Focus: Unassigned urology patients
Board Certified in Urology REQUIRED
Active California medical license REQUIRED
Fellowship training Preferred
Must be comfortable covering urology emergencies in a trauma center
Ability to cover stretches of 7+ days is highly desirable
Clean malpractice history preferred
While no specific procedures are strictly required, candidates proficient in the following will be highly considered:
General Urology (adult, pediatric, neonate)
Advanced endoscopic techniques
Laparoscopic surgeries
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy
Ureteroscopy
Radical cystectomy with ileo-loop conduit
Radical prostatectomy
Nephrectomy
Prostatectomy
Pelvic node dissection
Robotic surgery
Partial nephrectomies/intraoperative ultrasound
Adrenalectomy
Renal & bladder ultrasound with biopsy
TRUS biopsies
Incontinence procedures
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)
Credentialing timeframe: 60 days (temporary privileges available)
Insurance: Provided by IPL
Travel & lodging: Covered (nearest airport: Palm Springs International)
Support Staff: RN and office staff provided; no APP supervision required
Holidays Covered: New Year s, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas
