AimHire is partnering with a leading real estate organization to hire a
Building Engineer I
for a premier Class A commercial property located in the heart of downtown Denver. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the on-site operations team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, contribute to the maintenance of a high-performing facility, and advance within the commercial real estate industry.
Responsibilities Conduct daily building walkthroughs and inspect mechanical rooms Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and life safety systems Respond to and resolve tenant service requests and basic repair issues Monitor building operations and promptly report anomalies to the Chief Engineer Assist with maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies Ensure work complies with safety protocols, building codes, and internal standards Coordinate with vendors and contractors under supervision Maintain accurate logs, equipment records, and service documentation Support emergency response efforts and participate in the on-call rotation
Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance (commercial preferred) High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification is a plus Working knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical EPA Type I or II Certification preferred; willingness to obtain required certifications Familiarity with BAS (Building Automation Systems) and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus Strong customer service, time management, and problem-solving skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and safely operate basic tools and machinery
