Senior EMC/EMI Engineer - Antenna, Hardware Development

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon seeks an Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI and EMC) Engineer to join the Antenna Team. As a Kuiper EMC/EMI engineer you will develop requirements, review designs and build test capability for complex payload subsystems for low-earth-orbit satellites. Define requirements for testing and qualifying subsystems • Perform analysis of radiated emissions and susceptibility (RE/RS) • Work with electronic component design teams to communicate requirements related to electromagnetic environments such as shielding, grounding, bonding and isolation • Define and coordinate EMI and EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems • Develop and maintain EMI/EMC test labs and equipment and support execution of EMI/EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems • S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent degree, or equivalent experience - 5+ years of experience in a hardware development role focusing on electromagnetic environments or EMI/EMC. - 5+ years of experience with defining and conducting EMI/EMC testing for electronic components and systems. PhD or Master in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related degree - 7+ years of experience in spaceflight avionics development as an electromagnetic environments effects engineer. - Experience with using analysis to define requirements for emissions and susceptibility of avionics components. - Experience modelling electromagnetic environments using electromagnetic (EM) computational commercial software.
