Urban Retail Properties, a national leader in commercial property management, is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented
Real Estate Financial Analyst
to join a team in Boston. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals looking to build a long-term career in commercial real estate finance and asset management.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President / Director of Finance, this role will provide support to the team in the financial oversight and performance optimization of a diverse retail real estate portfolio. This individual will be responsible for preparing detailed financial models, analyzing leasing and operational performance, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and assisting in strategic decision-making to drive portfolio growth.
Support acquisitions across the full deal lifecycle, including financial modeling, due diligence, and post-closing analysis. Develop and maintain financial models, cash flow projections, and valuations for both existing assets and prospective investments. Monitor property- and portfolio-level performance, tracking KPIs such as occupancy, rental rates, NOI, and IRR. Partner with leasing and property management teams to evaluate tenant performance, track leasing pipelines, and provide financial input into lease negotiations. Conduct market research and gather comparables to analyze competitive positioning, industry trends, and demographics impacting portfolio performance. Prepare annual budgets, capital expenditure plans, quarterly reforecasts, and variance analyses to ensure accurate financial oversight. Deliver asset management reports, investor updates, and ad hoc analyses to management, ownership, and investment committees. Contribute to the development and execution of strategic business plans aimed at maximizing asset value. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field. MBA or progress towards a CFA a plus. ~2-4 years of relevant experience in real estate, asset management, investment banking, consulting, or corporate finance ~ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Experience with real estate financial software (Yardi or ARGUS). ~ Ability to interpret complex lease documents and financial statements ~ Comfortable presenting financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
