Owen Thomas Group is hiring: Assistant Project Manager in Amarillo

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our project management team on a variety of commercial and institutional construction projects in Amarillo, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of construction experience who is eager to take on more responsibility and grow into a full Project Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to resolve project issues.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress to ensure timely delivery.
• Help manage procurement of materials and services.
• Conduct job site visits to support field staff and verify work quality.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
• Support compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role in the construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.) a plus.
• Ability to work both in the office and on-site as needed.
