We are seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Assistant Project Manager who is motivated to learn, detail-oriented, and eager to grow into a leadership role. This position is designed for candidates who may not have extensive experience but are committed to developing their skills through structured, hands-on training while supporting the operation and running smaller projects.
Job Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will play a key role in coordinating and managing residential construction projects, supporting overall operations, and learning the systems and practices that drive successful project delivery. Under the guidance of senior staff, the APM will be responsible for day-to-day project oversight, coordination with subcontractors, scheduling, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This role provides direct exposure to all phases of construction management and is intended as a stepping stone to becoming a full Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage smaller projects with supervision, supporting larger projects as needed.
- Prepare, maintain, and track project documentation, including schedules, budgets, daily logs, and reports.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities, confirm schedules, and track performance.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality.
- Assist in planning and preparing for inspections; follow up on required corrections.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects on track.
- Identify and help resolve project challenges in a proactive manner.
- Participate in process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience also considered.
- 0–2 years of relevant construction experience (internship, coordination, or site exposure is a plus).
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred to support communication with diverse teams and clients.
- Basic understanding of construction practices and standards; knowledge of building codes a plus.
- Familiarity with project management software (Buildertrend or similar) is helpful but not required.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.
