Our client, a leading heavy civil construction contractor, is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator to join their team. This Estimator will be embarking on a career with a company that is highly regarded for its stellar reputation and an 80-year legacy within the Site and Road Work industry.

Responsibilities

• Bidding-Participate in weekly Estimating Meetings to help determine final bid schedule and bidding priorities for the weeks ahead
• Bid Preparation-Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals, participate and present in Bid Reviews with VP of Construction, review Risk Assessment with VP of Construction during bid review, and review Geotechnical Report for bid projects evaluating the impact and implications of soil conditions on completing the work
• GC and Owner Relationships-Maintain and Grow relationships in the region
• HCSS-Using HCSS Heavy Bid Software, create detailed cost takeoffs for projects
• Subs and Suppliers-Maintain and update subcontractor and supplier information for bidding, improve price/performance quality of subcontractors and suppliers
• Must Understand-Method of Measurement and Basis of Payment on unit price or public works projects

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience, preferably at a commercial GC in heavy civil projects
• Experience bidding valued at $3M million or more
• A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
• HCSS Heavy Bid Software preferred
• OSHA certification preferred
