Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in procurement and inventory management to join our finance and operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions related to purchasing, inventory control, and cost accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance
Maintain accurate general ledger entries related to procurement and inventory.
Perform monthly reconciliations of inventory accounts and investigate variances.
Prepare and analyze inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) reports.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
Assist with audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
Procurement Support
Collaborate with the procurement team to track purchase orders, vendor invoices, and payments.
Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure procurement-related expenses are coded accurately and comply with internal policies.
Inventory Management
Monitor and reconcile physical inventory counts with accounting records.
Work with warehouse or operations teams to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
Track inventory movements, write-offs, and adjustments for accurate reporting.
Ensure proper valuation of inventory, including FIFO/LIFO/Weighted Average methodologies.
Ensure all procurement and inventory processes align with internal controls and financial regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in accounting with specific exposure to procurement and inventory management.
Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory costing methods, and financial reporting.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities across departments.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
Experience in a manufacturing, retail, or distribution environment.
Familiarity with supply chain processes.
Schedule: In office, Monday through Friday
