About the Role A leading national civil construction firm with a strong footprint across critical infrastructure projects is seeking a skilled and safety-focused On-Site Superintendent to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll oversee daily construction operations for major infrastructure projects, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and crews to deliver safe, on-time, and within-budget outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Direct self-performing crews and subcontractors, coordinating schedules, tasks, and materials to meet key milestones. Serve as the primary field liaison for project managers, engineers, and safety officers. Monitor work quality against project specifications, drawings, and compliance codes. Champion site safety culture and uphold all federal, state, and internal safety protocols. Conduct daily safety briefings and inspections to proactively identify and address hazards. Ensure all site personnel have the proper PPE and required training. Maintain clean and compliant work environments, including adherence to environmental standards. Perform regular quality checks and inspections to ensure deliverables meet contract specifications. Collaborate with internal teams and inspectors to address deficiencies and coordinate corrective action. Support seamless coordination with local authorities for inspections and compliance reporting. Track daily labor, materials, and equipment usage, documenting site progress through daily logs. Work closely with project managers to forecast material needs, avoid delays, and stay within budget. Submit weekly progress reports highlighting achievements, risks, and upcoming priorities. Proactively communicate issues or delays with proposed resolutions.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of field experience in commercial or industrial construction, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. Demonstrated experience managing heavy civil infrastructure projects, with knowledge of aviation fueling systems and/or water/wastewater systems a plus. Deep understanding of construction methods, sequencing, materials, safety protocols, and project documentation. Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate multiple subcontractors, and deliver projects in active field environments. Skilled in reading construction plans, interpreting technical specifications, and documenting progress. Proficient with construction management software (such as Procore, Primavera, or similar platforms), MS Office Suite, and field reporting tools. Certifications OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification (required). First Aid/CPR certification (preferred). PMP or similar project management credentials (preferred). Physical Requirements Ability to work on active construction sites in various weather conditions. Capable of standing, walking, and lifting as needed for field inspections and site navigation. Flexible to work extended hours, nights, or weekends based on project needs.
