Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Finance & Accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory requirements. This role will directly manage accounting staff, coordinate financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making. Leveraging prior experience as an Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager plays a critical role in driving efficiency, maintaining internal controls, and providing leadership to the accounting team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and IFRS. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes. Analyze financial results, variances, and trends to provide insights to senior leadership. Coordinate and support internal and external audits.

General Ledger & Compliance Manage and review general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries. Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and company financial policies. Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen accounting practices.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversee AP/AR functions, ensuring timely vendor payments and accurate customer invoicing. Monitor cash flow, collections, and credit risk management. Resolve escalated issues with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Leadership & Team Development Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and professional development. Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance for accuracy and timeliness. Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture. Serve as a key liaison between finance, operations, and executive leadership.

Strategic Support Partner with the Director of Accounting and CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic initiatives. Participate in cross-functional projects, acquisitions, and systems implementations.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA, CMA, or Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Prior experience as an Assistant Controller or equivalent strongly preferred. Solid understanding and application of

both GAAP and IFRS

reporting standards. Experience in a manufacturing, consumer goods, or pharmaceutical industry a plus.

Skills: Advanced knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Standard office environment with extended periods of computer use. Occasional extended hours during month-end and year-end closing.
