Project Manager – Heavy Highway Paving - 110k-135k Base Salary

Location: Rock Hill, SC office

Salary: $110,000 – $135,000 base + benefits (depending on experience)

Axis Talent Group is partnering with a leading heavy highway contractor to hire a Project Manager for a flagship I-85 interstate paving project. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a high-profile DOT job and work with an established team in the Carolinas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of large asphalt paving and interstate projects.
• Oversee field operations, subcontractors, and schedules with a focus on safety, quality, and DOT compliance.
• Coordinate with design and engineering teams on design-build projects.
• Manage budgets, contracts, and change orders.
• Ensure successful delivery of the I-85 interstate paving project, including night work as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing heavy highway, interstate, or asphalt paving projects.
• Background in DOT work (NCDOT or SCDOT preferred).
• Design-build project experience a plus.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate crews and stakeholders.
• Flexibility and comfort with night paving operations.
