The Encompass Group is hiring: Civil Engineering Designer in Costa Mesa

A well-established architecture and planning firm in Costa Mesa is seeking a Civil Designer / Drafter to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on supporting site planning and civil design efforts for a variety of urban development projects, including mixed-use, residential, and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare civil design drawings, site plans, grading, and utility layouts using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop comprehensive design solutions.
• Produce construction documents, details, and specifications in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist with site analysis, feasibility studies, and coordination with municipal agencies and review boards.
• Support project teams throughout all phases, from conceptual design to construction administration.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project standards in all civil drafting and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in civil drafting or design, preferably in urban development or mixed-use projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office; knowledge of GIS is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Understanding of municipal codes, grading, drainage, and utility design preferred.
