Team Overview:
Wealth Management Advice and Solutions (WMAS) is responsible for leading the firm in ensuring our clients are on track to meet their financial goals. The Edward Jones Trust Company provides a full range of trust, investment management, and custody services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and private foundations.
What You Will Do:
The Oversight Officer - Trust Services provides subject matter expert-level oversight for the administration of trust accounts. This role reviews accounts to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures. While not directly managing associates, the Oversight Principal influences quality and consistency through review, participation in key committees, and coaching. The position plays a critical role in safeguarding fiduciary integrity and supporting strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program. - Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to inform oversight practices and maintain compliance.
- Contribute to training and onboarding efforts by sharing expertise and reinforcing best practices.
- Document oversight findings and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.
- Approve high-risk transactions, including cash disbursements, overdrafts, and charge-offs, within delegated authority.
- Review and validate discretionary distribution decisions to ensure compliance with trust terms and applicable standards.
- Serve on key Trust Company committee(s), contributing to decisions that impact client accounts and Trust Company strategy.

What Experience You Need:
- Bachelors Degree
- 6-10 years minimum experience
- CTFA or CFP or JD required to start within 1 year of hire
- Strong understanding of fiduciary duties, trust structures, and account administration processes
- Ability to interpret and apply trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney, and related legal instruments
- Advanced knowledge of estate planning strategies, tax implications, and wealth transfer techniques
- Knowledge of risk factors in trust administration and methods to mitigate legal and reputational exposure
- Familiarity with federal and state trust laws, including the Uniform Trust Code and state-specific statutes
- Working knowledge of Edward Jones Trust Company's operational guidelines and compliance standards
- Understanding of standards for evaluating and approving discretionary distributions and account actions
- Basic knowledge of investment principles, asset allocation, and portfolio management in a fiduciary context
What Could Set You Apart:
- Master's Degree preferred
- Experience with oversight of unique or illiquid assets such as real estate, closely held businesses, or collectibles.
- Industry Standards and Best Practices - Awareness of evolving fiduciary practices, industry benchmarks, and peer institution trends
- Proficiency in trust accounting systems, document management platforms, and compliance monitoring tools
- Deep understanding of the Trust Company's structure, strategic goals, and cross-functional collaboration channels
- Familiarity with internal audit processes, documentation standards, and regulatory exam preparation
