ManTech seeks an experienced and passionate, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team located in the Ft. Meade, MD area .

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop user manuals, guides, FAQs, tutorials, and other documentation that explain how to use a product or service and provide comprehensive documentation and consultations with technical personnel.
  • Ability to create and maintain system diagrams, network data flows, power distribution charts, process flowcharts, rack elevations, and floor plans.
  • Converting documents to PDF, uploading them into Confluence, and creating and maintaining organizational and project documentation. 
  • Use diagramming tools like Gliffy or Microsoft Visio, to create digital versions of whiteboard diagrams.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including those related to software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • Write and edit technical documentation encompassing hardware and software aspects of the project, including installation, configuration, and instructional materials and format technical publications to ensure clarity and accessibility.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of technical writing experience or High School degree can be substituted with 10 years of experience.
  • Experience with Drafting/Illustration
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Confluence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with Nlyte (DCIM Tool)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with OBS Studio or similar screen recording tools for creating technical presentations, training videos, and instructional content
     

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/computer/printer.
