Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) - Behavioral Health ServicesLocation: Putnam, CT - Providence 30mSetting: Adult Outpatient Services (with inpatient and ED consult coverage as needed)Shift: Full-Time, permanent position; Days (40 Hours/Week)Position SummarySeeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our Behavioral Health Services team. You will provide comprehensive mental health evaluations, psychopharmacology management, and collaborative care across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. This position promotes a holistic, patient-centered approach to behavioral healthcare.Key Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing care in the Adult Outpatient Service Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician and interdisciplinary team Prescribe and manage medications and therapeutic interventions Provide psychiatric consults for the inpatient unit, medical floors, and emergency department as needed Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients Assess patients physical, emotional, and social needs as part of the evaluation process Document all evaluations, progress notes, and billing-related information in a timely manner Support patient education and promote mental health advocacy Contribute to Quality Improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives Participate in formal and informal psychiatric education for staffQualifications Master s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (required if licensed after 1999) Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) through ANCC (required) Active RN/APRN license in the State of Connecticut Current Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance License Minimum 2 years of mental health experience in a clinical settingSkills & Abilities Advanced clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills Ability to assess severity and urgency of mental health conditions Knowledge of psychopharmacology and behavioral health interventions Effective collaboration and communication with interdisciplinary teams Ability to build therapeutic rapport with patients across diverse populations Cultural sensitivity and commitment to equitable care Self-directed, organized, and able to work independentlyCompensation & Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Pharmacy Plan Basic & Supplemental Life Insurance Short- & Long-Term Disability Health Savings or Flexible Spending Account 401(k) Plan with Employer Contribution Paid Vacation, Sick Days, and Holidays Education Reimbursement Pet Insurance Additional voluntary benefits available
