Overview Back to the Roots is looking for an outgoing, motivated
Soil Brand Ambassador
to represent our organic soils and seeds at stores across the Bay Area during the peak spring gardening season (February to May, with potential for performance-based extension into the summer). This part-time, field-based role (up to 30 hours/week) blends retail execution, customer engagement, and brand advocacy. Soil Brand Ambassador
to build awareness and excitement for Back to the Roots soils in stores throughout the Bay Area. You’ll work directly with store teams to execute merchandising, set up events, and engage customers during the busiest gardening season of the year. What You’ll Do
Visit 10–12 stores per week (up to 30 hrs/week), focusing on top-performing locations around the Bay Area. Partner with in-store teams to maintain clean, stocked, and well-displayed soils. Act as an in-store advocate by educating associates and empowering them to champion BTTR soils and seeds. Drive customer engagement and encourage participation in spring in-store events. Plan efficient store routes weekly and adjust schedules around weather as needed (e.g., repurpose rainy weekends). Create weekly summaries of your efforts to present internally. Demonstrate outgoing, friendly energy and enthusiasm when engaging with people. Build relationships quickly through strong communication. Be organized and proactive; able to manage multiple store visits each week. Be passionate about gardening, sustainability, and reconnecting people with their food. Previous experience in retail merchandising, brand ambassadorship, or customer engagement is a plus. Flexible schedule (weekend availability required). Reliable transportation required.
