RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: Relocation assistance may be available CLEARANCE TYPE: Top Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time This position will be in Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, located in Palmdale, CA; El Segundo, CA; or San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA depending upon the selected candidate’s preference. The selected candidate will be in the Avionics Integration Organization and will provide engineering support for an electro-optical subsystem. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.
Responsibilities
Analysis of data for subsystem performance using MATLAB Generation and presentation of reports on subsystem performance to management and customers Resolution of squawks and other link anomalies Perform sustaining engineering to maintain and improve hardware, software, system maintainability and supportability Coordinate with ground hardware, software, and networking teams to optimize subsystem performance Perform installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware and software in the field Provide on-site support for test events Define support equipment (SE) requirements and provide guidance to the SE design team Develop and manage risks, issues, and opportunities Maintain baseline system documents, such as ICDs and specifications Provide technical direction to suppliers as a member of the Supplier Management Team Generate updates to technical manuals Support configuration management of the system’s hardware and software
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications For Principal Electronics Engineer - Communications Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year Experience with electro-optical, sensors and/or communications systems (development, test, production, integration and/or operations) Familiarity with systems engineering processes at the sub-system, system, and system-of-systems levels Active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to commencement of employment

Preferred Qualifications For Both Levels Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. The company may offer Long Term Incentives and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
