AP Executive Staffing is hiring a Senior Electrical Designer for the Process and Industrial Engineering division of a global, publicly traded consulting practice that focuses on improving clients’ operational performance with advanced engineering services. Working out of their beautiful, highly collaborative space in downtown Buffalo (free parking), you will engage in producing high-quality 2D/3D electrical models and drawings for process and industrial projects. This role collaborates across disciplines, supports site activities and mentors junior staff while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project standards.

***This position is located on-site M-F in Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities: Develop electrical designs, models, and detailed drawings (2D/3D) to project specifications and schedules. Generate one-lines, bills of material, cable tray layouts, conduit and grounding plans, instrument location plans, I/O and motor schematics, and related documentation. Interpret and work from common inputs: P&IDs, equipment drawings, and design standards. Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplinary teams; escalate issues promptly to maintain progress. Participate in site visits to assess conditions, verify designs, support start-up/construction, and ensure conformance with specifications and codes. Maintain organized, accurate drawing packages and revision histories; uphold drafting methods and standards. Provide guidance, training, and workload coordination for junior designers.

Qualifications: Associates degree in CAD Drafting & Design Technology

or

equivalent professional experience. 8+ years of electrical design experience in process/industrial environments (candidates with varying experience will be considered). Proficiency preparing comprehensive electrical and instrumentation drawing sets. Ability to create models and drawings using Autodesk Plant Design Suite (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks). Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and relevant industry standards (or willingness to quickly attain). Strong verbal/written communication; meticulous attention to detail; ability to work independently and in a team. Willingness to travel to client locations and perform work on active industrial/construction sites.

Compensation:

$75-105k (O/T is compensated)
