What is the Senior UX Designer responsible for? The Senior UX Designer will play a pivotal role within a product team dedicated to the Portfolio Analytics Tool (PAT). This position serves as the principal internal UX lead, collaborating with both internal partners and external vendors to shape and implement design strategy. The successful candidate will excel at transforming technical complexity into simple, clear, and actionable workflows—ensuring sophisticated analytics are accessible and intuitive for users of all backgrounds. Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end UX design process for PAT, from discovery to delivery

Structure and enhance the application’s information architecture to accommodate complex data sets

Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that communicate and validate design concepts

Partner closely with developers and product managers throughout the design and development lifecycle

Advocate for user-centered design principles across internal teams and with external partners

Work within and continuously improve a shared design system to support consistency and scalability

Ideal qualifications, skills and experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in UX, product design, or related fields, ideally with exposure to SaaS or data-intensive products

Exceptional critical thinking and systems-level problem-solving abilities

Outstanding communication skills, able to articulate UX value to diverse audiences

Expertise in applying heuristic evaluation and comparative analysis, especially in environments with limited user research

Bonus: Experience or training in software engineering, finance, anthropology, or scientific research methodologies

Technical Skill Set

Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Storybook, or similar platforms for managing design systems and developer handoff

Familiarity with HTML/CSS and an understanding of developer workflows is an asset

Compensation and Benefits Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation.
