Overview Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco – Internal Audit Team. We audit Bank activities to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of controls across District sites. Travel to branches is required for on-site audits (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, Salt Lake City). Deputed travel is typically five days, about two times per quarter, with occasional 1–2 day trips.

We seek a Lead Auditor to join the Reserve Bank Operations Audit Team, auditing large scale Cash Operations, Federal Law Enforcement, Facilities Management, and other Administrative Services. The lead auditor will plan, conduct, document, and report audit results to determine the adequacy and effectiveness of controls over financial reporting, operations, and compliance with laws and regulations. Essential Responsibilities

Supervise and review moderate to moderately high-risk audit work performed by audit team members in accordance with internal/external policies and audit standards. With guidance, evaluate team performance after assignments. May supervise 1–4 employees on an assignment. Define risk-based audit scope and objectives for District-focused audits; establish assignment timeframes and budgets; develop or revise audit programs. Execute approved audit programs under general supervision with increasing independence; evaluate governance and risks; assess the effectiveness of controls over financial reporting, operations, asset safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. Identify, assess, and challenge audit exceptions; present clear explanations of issues to audit management and operating personnel. Prepare written audit reports and coordinate with internal reviews and business management at the conclusion of audits. Appraise adequacy of corrective actions from previously reported findings and review follow-up work performed by other auditors. Maintain knowledge of activities in assigned risk areas; review/analyze data; develop/maintain audit programs; perform risk assessments for areas of liaison coverage. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) required within 24 months of placement in role. Five or more years of internal auditing experience, preferably in a lead role (Auditor-in-Charge, Lead Auditor). Strong communication skills (verbal/written) for internal and stakeholder interactions; ability to resolve conflicts in challenging situations. Strong understanding of audit applications, data analytics capabilities, and general IT controls. Proficient with Microsoft Office; knowledge of risk management, compliance, and data-related frameworks. Understanding of risk and control concepts; ability to challenge others’ judgments; skill in root cause analysis and leading discussions; knowledge of IPPF and COSO frameworks. Strategic thinking, information synthesis, and ability to identify patterns and connect dots. Strong presentation, facilitation, and project management skills. Ability to travel ~15% of the time. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with intent to become a US Citizen. Preferred Skills/Experience

CIA certification. Experience in financial services, government, or operations with large cash handling (e.g., casinos). Knowledge of data analytics software. Compensation and Benefits Base Salary Range: Min: $100,300; Mid: $130,400; Max: $160,300 (Location: San Francisco). Final salary will be determined by background, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
